A poem titled "Midwest" over the image of a fall day. The poem says "Where's the closest small town to the city so I can buy a big house old and pretty so I can be alone and hear the silence so I can hear myself think instead of sirens. In the midwest the south of the north. We have a few cities, but we also have corn. When you want to get away, we'll likely get ignored. Yet the idea of leaving has me torn. Up North

Silent, serene solitude.
Smells of pine and coffee, freshly brewed.
Antlers are revealed as the sun rises pink.
We join on the porch as the birds start to sing.

Some want to travel across skies and seas.
Although I enjoy that, I simply want peace.
To simply stroll as I follow the stream.
To trample new trails through vast acres of trees.

My battery’s dead, I turned off the TV.
In all four seasons, I don’t want to leave.
